About the Book (Excerpts & Info)

The weight of grief can be overwhelming. Death may be sudden, but it can linger for so long that it strangles hope, love, and even faith. Faithful Remembrances: Volume I brings together dozens of poems confronting the whirlwind of emotions often encountered after the death of a loved one. Written by two women whose lives have been touched by loss, the poems collected here are organized into sections honoring the lives of parents, children, friends, co-workers and lovers. Here are poems giving voice to the father who has buried his daughter; the daughter who has watched her father slip away; and the wife who may no longer catch the scent of her husband's cologne. Their words affirm the stages of grief and pain we all go through. Yet, these poems are more celebratory than mournful. They minister to the spirit left behind after experiencing a loss, offering comfort, reassurance, understanding and hope. Each expresses a profound and enduring love, a love calling on us to persevere through even the darkest of hours.

Deftly constructed at 190 pages, Faithful Remembrances - Volume I is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Poetry - General category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Faithful Remembrances - Volume I meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $14.95.

Additionally, Faithful Remembrances - Volume I can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press wholesale online bookstore at www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks
