(ePrintWire.Org) – Emerald Group Publishing is delighted to announce that subsequent to the release of the 2008 Thomson Reuters (ISI) Journal Citation Reports®, the company has received its best rankings to date.

The journal citation reports are one of the major indicators of quality academic research. The service measures the impact and influence of the research published. The total number of Emerald journals indexed by ISI is now 41.
Emerald continuously monitors the progress of their journals to ensure their quality is reflected through ISI. Two notable additions to the report were The European Journal of Marketing (Impact Factor: 0.712) and Library Hi Tech (0.344) who received their first Impact Factor.

Highlights from the reports include, a total of 28 Emerald journals (85% of those already receiving a ranking) saw increases in their Impact Factors, Emerald has SEVEN journals with an Impact Factor over 1.000 (20% of those with an IF), and Emerald also saw every one of its business and management journals receive an increase in their Impact Factor.

Simon Linacre, Senior Publisher at Emerald comments “We are pleased with the recent improvements in Emerald’s journal impact factors over the last year. Emerald endeavors to publish quality research and encourage well-written articles. This strong performance is an indicator of the high standards of Emerald publications and the continuous improvements in editorial quality which we have worked hard to achieve.”
