(ePrintWire.Org) – Laura Edgerton, the founder of Edgerton Immigration Law, has been named to the 2010 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers® magazine in the area of immigration law. Only five percent of North Carolina attorneys are chosen each year.

The selections for Super Lawyers are made by Law & Politics, a division of Key Professional Media, Inc., of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The list appears in North Carolina Super Lawyers® magazine. A list of Super Lawyers can also be found on the Web at www.superlawyers.com.

The rigorous selection process has three distinct phases, beginning with the creation of the candidate pool. Once the pool is final, the attorney-led research department independently evaluates each candidate. The last step is a statewide review of the candidates by their peers within their primary area of practice.

Candidates are evaluated based on a system of 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. These include: representative clients; experience; honors and awards; special licenses and certifications; position within law firm, bar and or other professional activity; pro bono and community service; scholarly lectures and writings; education and employment background; and other outstanding achievements.
