(ePrintWire.Org) – All Booked Up, voted Best Book Store in Apex, announces a new partnership and sister company - Peak City Publishing, LLC. Co-located at 104B North Salem Street, in Apex, NC, the two companies are working together to become the Publisher of Choice for the many talented artists and authors right in the town of Apex and surrounding areas.

Officers of Peak City Publishing, LLC include Shiloh Burnam and Janice Monaco, both residents of Apex, NC. The two friends and business partners are honored to be part of the Apex community and downtown experience. Both feel strongly about looking at the publishing experience as a partnership with writers, readers and the community.

Peak City Publishing, LLC has an exciting vision for the future of aspiring authors and artists which will turn the traditional publishing experience upside down. First, the company will focus on investing in local authors and artists whose talent is lost in the shuffle of the bigger firms. Second, the company plans to select members of the community to assist in making publishing decisions by allowing them to read and review manuscripts to determine viability in the market place. Finally, Peak City Publishing is opening the opportunity for piece work on illustration/graphic art, copy-editing and other professional services, augmenting the local economy with new revenue.

Like All Booked Up, Peak City Publishing will support the community schools, churches and other organizations with fundraising and donations. In 2009, All Booked Up raised and donated thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise to local non-profit organizations, such as The Peak City Film Festival, New Horizons Church Drive for Local Missions, Dillard Middle School, and more.

The fist project, co-sponsored by All Booked Up and Peak City Publishing, is a young adult short story contest encouraging young adults to write openly and creatively based on using “It was not supposed to end this way” as the first sentence in the manuscript. The contest, called the “The First Line” is the first in a series of short story books written by members of the community. The next contest, open to adults, will follow the same principles. The store, recently voted best book store in Apex, specializes in the resale of gently used books, games and DVDs. Customers are also able to purchase estate quality home décor items.
